This is a match at Acton sportsground, noting a senior Australian rules ground at York Park did not open until 1946 (it was used for schools football from the late 1920s). One team is Acton (black with white band), which switched to black and white vertical stripes from the 1930 season. The other team (black with red sash) is either Federals - which would place the photo in one of the 1924-1927 seasons - or Manuka - 1928 or 1929 seasons. The fact there are six photos of the match in the Collection suggests it was an important game, most likely the 1925 Federal Capital Territory Football League grand final, in which Federals defeated Acton at Acton.
